“Despite Monument being an affluent area, there is still a real need. People would be surprised to find out that there is a line outside of Tri-Lakes Cares on every market day. The compassion that participants feel when they walk through the doors is amazing. From a smiling front desk volunteer to the caring ear of a Case Manager, the team at TLC is truly impressive,” Mark said. “Food is a basic need, and sometimes the families we serve have had to make tough decisions between repairing a vehicle so they can get to work or putting food on the table.”

Beyond volunteering, Mark and Debbie are also regular donors committed to the organization’s future success. When we first introduced our partnership with FreeWill, they were the first to sign on with a legacy gift intent.

“We are invested in Tri-Lakes Cares and the community. I’m a third-generation native of Colorado Springs and have a century of family history serving in this area. We want to make sure that our gift has a lasting impact on the people and the community we care about deeply,” Debbie said. “Even after we are gone, we take a lot of comfort in knowing that our charitable wishes will be carried out.”
